Gandhinagar is Gujarat’s planned capital city and is extremely well-planned and organized. There are wide open green parks, extensive planting and large recreational areas along the Sabarmati river rendering it a lush green garden-city ambience. The Highway connecting Sarkhej to Gandhinagar (S.G Road) is undergoing a major construction boom along the route to Gandhinagar. A multitude of shopping malls have come up featuring exclusive retail brand stores. ISCON Mega Mall, one of India’s largest malls, is coming up on this road.
The vast stretch of land between Koba and Raysan has been earmarked by Gujarat government to develop knowledge institutions such as Law University, Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management etc. With more institutions in the offing, land prices are appreciating sharply.
Perhaps Gandhinagar’s hottest properties are shaping up at the stretch connecting Ahmedabad airport and Gandhinagar. It is witnessing sporadic commercial development with IT Parks, hotels, and educational institutions coming up.
With Gujarat making big plans to be an IT hub, prominent property developers like Raheja and DLF have stepped in to build IT parks. Lot of Retailing space have also come up in Gandhinagar on the back of mall culture and high end living in the city boosted by changing consumer behavior and rising incomes.
AVS Developers is coming up with a residential complex at Koba, Gandhinagar. Raheja Group is developing an IT park near Gandhinagar. DLF has bought land near Gandhinagar for the construction of another IT park.
Real estate biggies like Emmar Group are also joining the development spree. It has plans to develop an IT park on the Gandhinagar knowledge corridor. Kalika Construction is planning an IT SEZ near Gandhinagar; Adani Infotech is setting up an IT SEZ encompassing 50 acres. Ganesh Housing has identified land in Gandhinagar for another IT SEZ spread over an area of 120 acres.
